3.7.2016 Karjaa NDS

It was a bit strange to travel only with Icecream to Karjaa.
I hardly ever go to a show with just one dog :D

Breed judge was mrs Tanya Ahlman-Stockmari, Finland.
She put Icecream BOB!

The group was judged by mr Perttu Ståhlberg, also from Finland.
Rather new judge in group 6 breeds, so I was eager to see how he would judge.
He proved to be a basset person! Only rhodesian ridgeback was the non-basset breed in final 4!
And Icecream again BEST IN GROUP 2!!!

Now we have well earned break from shows for few weeks.

Both Tinkerbell and Icecream won the breeds, Icecream also short listed in the group.

On Sunday it was Tammela NDS, one of the prettiest outdoor shows in Finland.

Grands were judge by mrs Maija Mäkinen and again Tinkerbell BOB!!!

Petit and group judge was mrs Annamaria Tarjan, Hungary.
Icecream BOB and in the end BEST IN GROUP 2!!!

5.6.2016 Group VI Show in Luige

During the Estonian Winner weekend there is always also group 6 show held.

This year the judge was mrs Silvia Weber-Martegani, Switzerland.

If yesterday was Icecream's day, today it was 100% Tinkerbell's!

She won the breed and got an amazing critique.

In petits Icecream won the breed and Kate got exc, just needed more time to develope. Showed the duo also to bob brace and they sure gave some action and laughs to spectators :P

In the final ring the petit duo showed what a happy breed pbgv is and won BEST IN SHOW BRACE.

Then it was time for Tinkerbell to rock the BIS ring.
And boy did she deliver! BEST IN SHOW 1!!!

The show weekend proved again to be a great one.
Lots to think back to and lovely memories to cherish.
Thank you all travelling crew again!

It is quite a tradition this show for us. I have many memorable moments over the years and this year added some more :)

The breed judge was mr Anatoli Zhuk and group judge mrs Anca Giura.

Tinkerbell BOB CACIB ESTONIAN WINNER'16

Kate BOS BOB-JUNIOR JUN-CC ESTONIAN WINNER'16 ESTONIAN JUNIOR WINNER'16

Icecream BOB CACIB ESTONIAN WINNER'16 BEST IN GROUP 1!!!

Icecream is the 3rd doggy of mine that has won the group in this main show in Estonia. Hocus did it 2013 and Icecream's dad Porter 2014.

22.5.2016 Royal Canin Show, IDS Helsinki

It was lovely, sunny day and time for a show in Helsinki.

The grand judge was mrs Eva Jönsson, Sweden and petit judge mr Laurent Pichard, Switzerland.

It proved to be Tinkerbell's day!

The judge fell in love with her, gave her a super critique and BEST OF BREED :)
Frosty was BOS with his 2nd CACIB in a row.

Thank you Kristina for showing Frosty superbly in bob competition!!

Icecream won again the breed with CACIB, well done boy <3
This ment he is now C.I.E, INTERNATIONAL SHOW CHAMPION!!

The group was judged by mrs Jönsson and I had a feeling she would prefer Tinkerbell over Icecream, so I decided to show the girl myself and Ice was ably shown by Tilda, thanks girl <3

My hunch was right as Tinkerbell landed her first group placement in Finland! BEST IN GROUP 3!!!

Picture credits to Jari Kunnari, thank you!

5.5.2016 Finnish Basset Club Speciality

It was time for the main event of the year in basset breeds, the speciality!

Mr Per C Knudsen of Morebess kennel was judging both breeds.
There were 29 petits and 19 grands entered.

First it was the petits. Icecream gave a great performance and was awarded class 2nd and in the end bm3 with lovely critique.

The stars of the day were the grand duo!

Frosty first won the junior class and the went on winning all males!!!
Tinkerbell did the same thing from open class!!
So I had both of them competing for BOB!

Frosty was the breed winner with a super critique, so it was exciting to wait for the final rings!

BEST IN SHOW JUNIOR was judged another petit breeder judge, mrs Jette Vind Ramvad from Denmark.
Frosty gave a lovely performance and the judge appreciated it up to BEST IN SHOW JUNIOR 2!!!

The last competition of the day was of course BEST IN SHOW, judge mr Knudsen.

Frosty was a little trooper, tired but gave his best in the ring.
So I was super happy when he was placed BEST IN SHOW 2!!!!

Super result for this young boy who will surely have a lot come in the show world!

There are few thanks in order. First to the basset club, well done for another great speciality!
Thanks to Kristina for the help in the bob ring with Tinkerbell!
Thanks to friends for a lovely day and company!

17.4.2016 IDS Vaasa

Show #2 for the weekend.

Had Icecream entered under very strict mrs Riitta Lahtovaara and both Tinky & Frosty under mrs Leila Kärkäs.
But Tinky had her good days in heat and the day before had been rather hard on the boys already, so I decided leave her home.

So off we went us three.
There were 4 petits and 7 grands entered and the boys didn't let me down!

Frosty competed for CACIB for the first time and he did slam dunk! BEST OF BREED WITH CACIB & CAC!!!

Icecream ruled again the breed ring with BEST OF BREED & CACIB. Mrs Lahtovaara also took the group and awarded him with BEST IN GROUP 4!!!

So all in all it was and tough but succesfull weekend!

A truly a show weekend ahead!
First a day trip to Tallinn with four dogs and then the next day 4 hour drive to another show with 3.

So on Saturday morning I packed the car full with Tinky, Frosty & Icecream, drove to Helsinki harbour, met with Jaana with Kate who I took on board and headed to Tallinn Winner 2016 show.

Judge was from Finland, mr Juha Putkonen and results were great!

Tinkerbell van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes BOB CACIB CAC TALLINN WINNER'16 ESTONIAN & LATVIAN & FINNISH CHAMPION!!!

Frosty Snowman BOS BOB-JUNIOR TALLINN WINNER'16 TALLINN JUNIOR WINNER'16 ESTONIAN & BALTIC JUNIOR CHAMPION!!!

Vilauddens Cloud Gate BOS BOB-JUNIOR TALLINN WINNER'16 TALLINN JUNIOR WINNER'16!!!

Icecream van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes BOB CACIB TALLINN WINNER'16 & BEST IN GROUP 1 under mr Arne Foss!!!

Since we had another show in Finland the following day, we were't able to stay for BIS on Sunday.
But it sure was worthy trip :)

Congrats to Kate's owners Jaana, Marie & Peter and to team Icecream, PingPing & Tor!!!
And of course the mastermind behind all these doggies, Gwen :)

 26.3.16 Lappeenranta IDS, Imatra

The easter show in Lappeenranta hasn't been in my show calender for years, but this year decided to enter the boys under mrs Anca Giura, Romania. There were 5 entered dogs in both breeds and Frosty competed for CACIB for the first time.

Even though it was early ring time so super early wake-up and long drive, the boys showed perfectly. Both ended winning the breed, so Frosty received his first CACIB! Good boy!
So we had a long wait for the groups to start, but it sure was worth it.

I was travelling with my go-to handling help and friend Tilda, who again rocked the ring with Frosty. They ended BEST IN GROUP 4!!! Well done super-duo!

Icecream showed again how he loves the big ring and glad to tell the judge appreciated it too. So our boy got another BEST IN GROUP 1!!!

The bis ring would have been on the following day, but for me it was impossible to stay, had to go to work. We tried to get accomodation for Icecream and Tilda but the city was full of Easter tourists, so no rooms available :( so sadly Icecream had to skip that competition.
But nevertheless big congrats to Gwen, PingPing and Tor for their boys' super weekend!!

And sincere thank you to the judge for thinking so highly of these boys!

13.3.16 Crufts, Birmingham, UK

Unfortunately I had to skip Crufts myself this year, especially since Hocus was entered among many of his kennel mates. So I had to wait patiently (read nervously) at home for the results.

There were around 40 grands entered under mrs Jill Peak, UK.
Entered dogs were mostly from UK, but many also from Holland and futher around Europe.

Then the amazing news started to come. Hocus won the big open class first and then the dog cc!! So then I had to wait for the best of breed results and the out come was perfect:
our boy was chosen BEST OF BREED AT CRUFTS!!!

Big thank you to Gwen for keeping him in perfect condition and to Anouk for showing him in the breed ring!!!!

Judge's comments:
3 year old, excellent breed type, nice size, very noble head with good carriage, correct stop with good depth of muzzle, clear eye, ears fine well set, lovely neck and shoulders, good bone, legs and feet, strong body, well ribbed back, well muscled quaters with good set on. Moved well with reach and drive.

13.2. Champion of Champions / Veteran of Veterans Gala

It was the first time for me to take part to this invitational show for the top show dogs in Finland.
Icecream, Hocus and Porter got the invitations, but took only Icecream to the show.

There are three judges deliberating. This year they were mrs Irina Poletaeva, Finland, mrs Natalja Skalin, Sweden and mr Jo Schepers, Netherlands.
The doggies compete in drawn pairs until there is last two left. Icecream had one tough pair, the top terrier and #4 top dog 2015.
Our boy totally did his thing in prejudging and later on the runway in spotlights, so can't be prouder. He got one vote out of the three, which was super :)
The day went so quickly! Dinner and company was very good, so thanks Jaana & Tilda and rest of the table party. And got to chat with lot of show and dog enthusiasts who we will surely come across later in the shows :)

Definitely have to make this a tradition, with or without a furry star to show :)

Stack pic of Icecream is by Outi Toni, thank you!

17.1. Winter Dog Show, Turku

It was the traditional starting show of the new year, my home show in Turku.

I had only entered the boys, Frosty & Icecream. And very glad about that since I hurt my back badly at the end of last year.
And after 2,5 weeks it still wasn't ok. Luckily I could groom the doggies, but had to forget about showing them myself.
Luckily I have a dear friend and super talented handler, Tilda, who was happy to help. And she did a great job wit both!

Judge was mrs Tuire Okkola, Finland, 6 grands and 10 petits entered.
Grands were up first. Tilda and Frosty have rocked the ring before too and so did also today. Frosty won his class with cq.
In the best male competition there was in the end just him and champ Tico, who won, also the breed and res.BOG. Congrats to Eija & Jari!

In petits it was Tilda's and Icecream's first time together, but you could never tell. They were totally in sync :)
Ice won his class and then the males and in the end breed.

For me it was rather strange day, not to be able to show. Tilda moved the stuff, lift the dogs on the table, where I (and she) could brush them. So have to thank her from the bottom of my heart!!! I literary couldn't have done this show without her! Feel so blessed and thankful to have her <3

But it was also fun. I got to really watch all the dogs in action. Took loads of vids, hopefully can upload some here later. And also had time to chat with friends, and they gave me a lot of new energy to keep positive :) So thank you amigos!!!

Pics are by Jari Kunnari, thank you again!

Now we start rather long break from normal shows. We have Champion of Champions Gala on February with IceCream. Will be super nice to celebrate amazing year 2015 with friends and dinner!
After that, it's time to concentrate to another side of dog word, we are having pups!!! More on Puppies -page :)
