19. & 20.12.2015 Double IDS Vilnius
Then came the last show weekend of the and we traveled all the way to Vilnius, Lithuania, for two international shows. On Saturday the judge was local, mrs Kornelija Butrimova. Icecream was BM2 with CAC and Frosty BOB BOB-junior jun-CAC. So Frosty had some showing to do in the big ring :) First it was BIS-junior competition. Since it was huge one-day-show the amount of juniors was staggering! But mr Johan Juslin shortlisted our boy to top7!!! BOG was chosen also by mr Johan Juslin. I wasn't expecting anything for our one-year-old, but boy did he show what he is made of! BEST IN GROUP 1!!!!! Definitely called for a little toast :) On Sunday we had mr Rafael de Santiago from Chile as breed judge. And today it was both boys with BOB :) They also got new titles, Icecream LITHUANIAN & BALTIC CHAMPION Frosty LITHUANIAN AND LATVIAN JUNIOR CHAMPION BIS-junior was judged mr Roberto Velez Pico and again Frosty was shortlisted from huge amount of juniors! The group 6 was judged by mrs Galina Korobkova. I had Jutta for Frosty and showed myself Icecream. And again group placement, this time Icecream BEST IN GROUP 3! So that was a great way to end this show year! Thanks about this trip go to big group of old and new friends who helped me more than I hoped for! So my sincere thank, you know who you are <3 |
6.12.2015 Finnish Winner 2015
Then came Sunday and Finnish Winner. Breed judge came from Denmark, mr Kresten Scheel. He is a longtime basset person, so I was very excited to hear his opinion of the doggies. Grands were judged again first, so Frosty was on. He was measured and to my big surprise, according to the judge he was small. Unfortunately I didn't realise that until I got his critique. Otherwise I would have asked the judge to re-measure him and check the breed standard. So his result was exc2. Tinkerbell did even worse, had her 1st vg. So needless to say I wasn't too keen on waiting for the petits to start :D Glad to tell Icecream saved the day for me. The judge said he was very impressed by the high quality in champ class and it did take some time for him to deliberate. But in the end Icecream won the class. In best male he did his thing and there came his 2nd title of the weekend, WINNER 2015. In BOB competition the female was the same as on Saturday, and so was the verdict too. Icecream BEST OF BREED and ticket to BIG competition! The group was judged by mrs Marja Talvitie, Finland. Even though the group was as always huge in this show, Icecream stood out. BEST IN GROUP 2 AGAIN!! I was all smiles after this weekend in the end :) Congrats to PingPing & Tor again and of course THE breeder Gwen!!! Breed ring pics by Saila Hauta-aho, final ring pics by Mikko Marttinen & Texterri, thank you!!! |
5.12.2015 Helsinki Winner 2015
So came the main show weekend in Finland! Breed judge came from Norway mrs Anne Livo-Buvik. First it was grands. I had Frosty in junior class, which he won and got new title HELSINKI JUNIOR WINNER 2015 In best male competition, he showed his socks off and came 2nd after champion Tico :) Tinkerbell competed in open class and she was the first girl to get cq :) In the end it was her and champion bitch competing for best female and Tinkerbell won, so now she is HELSINKI WINNER 2015 In the end Tinkerbell was BOS, rightfully so. It's not her time yet to be in the big ring at our winner shows. Hopefully when she is all grown-up she has the chance to perform there. Then came Icecream's turn and the boy sure didn't let me down. He won the champion class and then all the males, so he is also now HELSINKI WINNER 2015. And he kept on going for BOB, which he in the end won! So I got to go with him to the big ring :) HUGE group 6 was judge by mrs Nina Karlsdotter, Sweden. Icecream totally rocked the ring and we had a blast! And the icing on the cake was, he was chosen BEST iN GROUP 2!!! Now it's time to thank you Jaana for the super super tasty dinner and hospitality! When you have spent the whole day in the show place, one really appreciates good food and some nice wine :) Pics by Jaana Honkanen & Jari Kunnari, thank you!!! |

There were three double IDS weekends left of the year and first one was in Jyväskylä. Entered the trio and again they made me one happy and proud lady! On Saturday breed judge was mr Rui Oliveira, Portugal. In grands Frosty did it again, BOB with CAC from junior class! Tinky was BOS with CAC & CACIB. In petits Icecream did his thing and was chosen also BOB with CACIB! The group judge was mr Harri Lehkonen, who had placed Icecream gr3 earlier in the autumn in Porvoo show. And glad his mind hasn't changed, Icecream BEST IN GROUP 3!!! On Sunday the breed judge was mr Theo Leenen, Belgium. He agreed with the Sat judge! AGAIN Frosty BOB CAC Tinkerbell BOS CAC CACIB and Icecream BOB CACIB Mr Leenen also judged the group and dropped a mini-bomb! FROSTY BEST IN GROUP 2!!!! And the little dude is just 11 months old! Big thank you to Anna and Frosty's special handler Tilda for the help in and off the ring!!! And thank you Jari Kunnari & Mikko Marttinen for the pics! |

25.10.2015 IDS Seinäjoki
I entered just the boys, Icecream and Frosty, to this show. Breed judge was mr Martin Johansson, Sweden. It is one of the most crowded show places in Finland, this year there were around 4200 dogs entered. Nevertheless Frosty gave a great performance and ended BM3 with res-CAC. But the star of the day again was Icecream! First he won the breed with wonderful critique. Then in the group the judge was mr Jan Ryk from Poland, our speciality judge in grands earlier this year. He decided that Ice was worthy for BIS, so BEST IN GROUP 1 AGAIN!!!The bis line-up was propably highest in quality this year, the 3 of the 4 placed dogs ended being the 3 top dogs all breeds this year in Finland! So it sure was an honour to be part of it. Ice added good amount of points in this last show for the season and I believe he ended close to top10 having competed only half a season!!! So PingPing and Tortrakul, I think you can be proud of your boy! And the mastermind-super-breeder Gwen, I salute!!!!! Show pics by Jari Kunnari, thank you! |
26.9.2015 IDS Eckerö
I was very excited to show my trio, Icecream, Tinky & Frosty, on this show because it had world famous finnish judges. Also it was Frosty's first official show having just turned 9 months the previous week. The breeds were judged by mr Hans Lehtinen and group mr Johan Juslin. Both had nice entries, 8 petits and 9 grands. Our doggies took it all! Icecream CACIB BOB Frosty CAC BOB, so straight to the top :) Tinky CAC CACIB BOS So at that point I was all smiles! The group had impressive amount of hounds and Icecream as usual loved the attention he got and that wasn't unnoticed by the judge either! BEST IN GROUP 1 Thank you Tilda for the company and help and Jutta with showing Frosty so well in the group!!! And thank you Peter and Marie for laughs and cheers and beautifull ring pics!!! |

Thank you Jaana for the help in the Group ring and congrats to the new champ in Helmi's litter! What a way to end outdoor show season!!! |
5.9.2015 European Winner 2015 Dog Show, Oslo
The recipe for super success is breeders with vision, dedicated team around, well prepared dogs and a bit of luck. The results of this years EDS were amazing for this gang! Both breeds were judged by mr Niels Brandstrup, Norway. In grands we got 4 winner titles, Montreaux & Tinky's sister Daisy EUROPEAN JUNIOR WINNERS Hocus Pocus & Frosty's mom Artiste EUROPEAN WINNERS Hocus BOB van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes BOB Breeder In petits 3 winner titles, Honey EUROPEAN JUNIOR WINNER Apple EUROPEAN WINNER Woody EUROPEAN VETERAN WINNER Apple BOB van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes BOB Breeder And the success didn't stop there... In the BIS Veteran ring Woody and Marie gave a super performance and placed BEST VETERAN IN SHOW 3!!! HUGE congrats!!! In the group6 competiotion we had Apple and Hocus to cheer on. Mr Arne Foss judged the group and the goldenboy showed again what he is made of! BEST IN GROUP 1 for Apple!!! So that ment Gwen, Anouk and Iris had some program for the final show day and rest of us had to wait patiently on to road for the results. They sure were worth the wait! 4.9.2015 Euro Basset Speciality, Oslo
Finally it was time for my first, long waited trip to Norway for European Dog Show! Travelled with dear friends Pirjo & Veijo and stayed at Wenche's who has grand girl Coco from Gwen. On Friday we had the Norwegian basset club's speciality. Judge was mr Gavin Robertson, UK. In grands I had entered Hocus, Meisje and Frosty and they did sooo well! Hocus CAC BOB BIS3 Meisje CAC BB2 after Wenche's Coco Frosty BOB-puppy BIS-PUPPY In petits I had Icecream coming BM2. So it was a good warm-up for the next days EDS :) |

It was time for first and only all breed puppy in Finland for Frosty. Breed and group was judged by mrs Paula Rekiranta and she clearly thought very highly of our boy. BOB & BEST IN GROUP 1!!! In BIS ring the judge was mrs Elina Hietalahti. Out 300 pups, she chose Frosty BEST IN SHOW!!! First time a grand won BIS in all-breed puppy show! Super excited of Frosty's future! 24.-25.7.2015 Eukanuba Summer Show
This was a weekend I will never forget!!! International Eukanuba Summer Show in Helsinki. I decided to concentrate on my champion boys and entered only Hocus and Icecream. Our breed was judged on Saturday by mrs Arja Koskelo and she was very impressed by both of the boys and gave BOB to both of them!!! So again I had to rely on the help of Tilda with Hocus and I feel very lucky to have that talented handler as a friend. The group was judged by mr Kari Järvinen, one the most famous finnish judges internationally. I was pretty much on cloud #9 when the judge pointed Icecream as BEST IN GROUP 1 and Hocus BEST IN GROUP 2!!!! It is such a rare thing to happen, especially in Finland, the double win. So that ment we had to return on Sunday for the BIS. But before that, we went to welcome Icecream's mommy PingPing to Finland! It was lovely to see the greeting Ice gave to her <3 Then came Sunday and time for BIS. Judge was another world famous finish judge, mr Rainer Vuorinen. The line-up in bis was quite something, WDS'14 BIS affenpinscher Tricky Ricky to mention one... And I think Icecream sensed that it was time to put on extra gear as he flew in the ring and showed his little heart out! The end result was just amazing BEST IN SHOW 2 after Tricky-Ricky!!!!! What a weekend!!! |
21. & 22.6.2015 Super weekend in Holland & France
Incredible news from IDS Doaui, France! Hocus won the group with his young handler Lorraine Huikeshoven! And as if that wasn't enough, he then went on to win reserve BEST IN SHOW!!!!! 11. & 12.7.2015 Double IDS Oulu
Every other year there are two international shows held in Oulu, almost 700 kms away from our place. But it usually has nice international judge panel, so I tend to make the trip. This year was no exception. Since it was so far from home, I decided to pack up the car full of doggies and along came also Tilda for help in and off the ring. Third lady in the team joined us in Oulu, Tiina and her two sweet beagles, Athos & Porthos. On Saturday the judge for both breeds was mr Igor Selimovic. The breed results were best possible! Hocus Pocus CACIB BOB Tinkerbell CAC CACIB (her 1st!) BOS Icecream CACIB BOB Porter BOB-VETERAN In the main ring it was Hocus' day! BEST IN GROUP 4 out of very nice amount of hounds!!!! So WELL DONE Hocus and his special handler Tilda <3 On Sunday the judge was Francisco Ruiz Rodriguez and he agreed with the Saturday's judge! Hocus Pocus CACIB BOB Tinkerbell CAC CACIB (her 1st) BOS Icecream CACIB BOB Porter BOB-VETERAN Our star of the day in the main ring was Porter. BEST VETERAN IN SHOW 4 out of HUGE amount of lovely oldies at over 10-years of age!!!! Thank you Tilda & Tiina for great time, definitely will do this again :) And congrats Tiina on your super weekend with Athos!!! |
5.7.2015 Basset Speciality
So came one of the main shows for our dogs in Finland, Basset Club Speciality and I had the best company there, dear friend and breeder of most of the dogs here, Gwen from Holland. I also got Hocus-boy back home for a while. Grands were judged by mr Jan Ryk, Poland. Hocus was 2nd in big champion class and in the end bm3. Tinkerbell won junior class, 2nd all in bitches and best of breed junior. So she went through to BIS-junior competition. Petits were judged by mr David R. Miller from USA. Icecream competed in quite huge champion class and was chosen #1. Daddy Porter also won his class and was later BOS veteran. In best male competition Ice showed super and won it!! In best of breed he competed against lovely veteran bitch and was chosen as the winner :) Both BIS-junior and BIS was judged by the petit judge. Tinkerbell showed her socks off with Gwen, it was soooo nice to watch the pair. And with super result, BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW!!! Icecream loves the big ring and this time made no exception, he totally rocked it and was chosen BEST IN SPECIALITY SHOW!!! Congrats to Gwen for breeding such a superb dogs and thank you for the best possible company!!!! Big congrats also to Icecream's mommy and daddy to Thailand! PingPing & Tortrakul, your boy is doing great here :) |
7.6.15 Riihimäki NDS
There was rather big entry for national show in Riihimäki, close to 2800 dogs. I had entered Icecream and Tinky. Ice had his ring early in the morning and the judge Soile Bister, Fi gave him a wonderful critique with BOB rosette: Exc.type, beautiful, stylish, masculine male with good proportions. Slightly long muzzle. Exc.body and tail. Good, harsh coat. First class reach and balance in movements. Pleasant character. So with that it wasn't bad to start the long wait for Tinky's judging and group competition. Grands were judged by mrs Maija Mäkinen, Finland. Tinkerbell had clearly saved her energy to the ring and she was just a happy jumpy junior in the ring :) The judge clearl appreciated her spirit and looks as she placed her as best bitch over champions and older, matured girls! In best of breed she was rightfully beaten by champion Tico. The group6 was judged mr George Schogol, Georgia. I had shown another petit boy, Chicago to group win under him earlier this year in Tallinn, so I knew he liked petits. And apparently he liked Icecream too as we were given the red rosette again! So it was his first group win in Finland! The BIS was judged by mrs Hassi Assenmacher-Feyel, Germany. And our showman didn't let us down even after long day, BEST IN SHOW 4!!! Picture credits of grands go to Jari Kunnari, thank you! |
30.-31.5.15 Estonian Winner 2015 & Group 6 Speciality Show
It was time for the annual Estonian Winner 2015 in Tallinn and our little TinkyWinky won her first two titles and Icecream added three to his long list!!! Judge mrs Liliane de Ridder-Onghena, Belgium. Tinkerbell van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes BOB BOB-jun Estonian Winner 2015 Estonian Junior Winner 2015 Icecream van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes BOB Estonian Winner 2015 Estonian Champion Finnish Champion On Sunday we had gr6 speciality show, judge Eli-Marie Klepp, Norway. And our dynamic duo did super well! IceCream BIS2 Tinkerbell BIS3 Junior It was such a fun weekend with big group of friends, so thank you amigos!!! |
24.5.15 National d'Elevage
This year I could make one of my dog-related dreams come true! THE SHOW where every serious vendeen basset enthusiast should go at least once, National d'Elevage. There you meet dogs and breeders you just don't see any other show. The entries per breed are huge, way over 100 each breed. So if you want to see as much as possible, don't enter any of yours but come to watch. I travelled with the Tum-Tum's team and we had two vans full of doggies with. So the show day was super long and busy, but so exciting :) Gwen's dogs did amazing. She won the breed with her petit girl Paris and several big classes with her other petits and grands. In the final ring her breeders group won in both breeds and both packs became reserve. Hopefully I get to go there again next year, for sure this wasn't the last time! |
2.5.2015 Tampere IDS
It was first outing of our new visitor who traveled all the way from the States to join our team, Icecream van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes! He is bred by Gwen and owned by PingPing Panda & her hubby Tortrakul Chaiyah from Thailand. Both breeds were judge by mr Kurt Nilsson. Being a show boy since little baby, Icecream knows exactly what to do in the ring and is pretty amazing to show. He gave a great performance and was bm2 with his first cac and a nice critique :) All though he is multiple champion all his titles he received under 2 years of age. That means in Finland he needs 3 cac's to become Finnish champion. In grands my girls were again the only females with cq, so they had the race for best bitch. In the quality judging I noticed the judge fell in love with our junior Tinky, so I wasn't totally surprised when she in the end won over her big sis :) Thanks Tilda for showing the rascal! In the best of breed competition the red-yellow rosette were rightfully so given to champion Tico, who later was big2. Congrats Eija & Jari! Photo credits to Jari Kunnari. |
28.3.2015 Turku IDS
Second home show of the year and I had entered grand girls again and also Porter. Petits were judged first by mrs Jill Peak. Porter did his happy performance and was bob veteran and bm2. Grands were on later the day and judged by mr Stefan Sinko. Both Tinkerbell and Meisje won their class with cq and in the best bitch competition they were again placed 1 and 2, Meisje winning. In the end Meisje was chosen best of opposite, so Porter was the one continuing to big ring in bis veteran. Best in show veteran was a huge group and judged by mr Andrzei Kaszmierski. Porter was shorlisted in top 7 :) |
22.3.2015 Lahti IDS
It was time for TinkyWinky to start her adult shows in junior class. Judge was strict mr Leif-Herman Wilberg and he had seven grands to judge. It wasn't easy to get exc let alone cq from the judge, but both of my girls did it as only grand females. In best bitch competition Meisje showed her little sis, how it's done and was chosen bb with cacib. Tinky won her first cac. In the end Meisje was given Best of Breed, so it meant spending the whole day at the show. Our breed judge also did the rather big group 6. Meisje gave a wonderful preformance in the big ring and made me so proud. Happy to tell the judge appriciated it too as in the end he pointed Meisje as the winner!!!! Didn't think we had to stay for another final ring, but didn't mind either :D Bis judge was mr Pedro Sanches Delerue and there was very impressive line-up of top dogs. So we felt honored to be able to be part of it. Photo credits and thanks for the lovely pics to Jaana Honkanen, Sirpa Koivulaakso & Petri Örling/Pasada. |
14.-15.2.2015 IDS Tallinn Winter Cup 2015
First show abroad for the year and we were off to Estonia with Meisje and new-comer Chicago. Judge for both breeds was world-known Kari Järvinen from Finland. As Meisje came champion last month in Turku, she needed only one CAC to finish her Estonian champion title. And that's what she did! Since I entered Chicago in junior class he was both bob and bob-jun, so he had two final competitions to compete in. First it was bog under judge George Schogol,Georgia. Chicago was the youngest one in the ring, but that didn't stop him charming the judge totally. He was given red rosette, so Best In Group!!! So I had a second group1 with a Tum-Tum's in a row in this show, Hocus won it a year ago. Last final of the day was bis-junior with judge Eugene Yerusalimsky, Russia. There were a big entry of juniors, so I had no expectations. But our boy just picked up where he left off in the group! Best In Show Junior!!! It was time to make few phone calls to re-arrange traveling plans. Really wanted to stay for bis on Sunday as the signed judge was our breed judge Kari Järvinen and he had given Chico wonderful critique. So came sunny Sunday and we got to sleep in and enjoy the weather. In the afternoon it was time to return to show place and watch the finals. As the last groups were judged, I saw Chicago was the only group winner from junior class. And he had to compete against some seasoned show stars. But that didn't stop him shining in the ring! He put up a wonderful performance and made me so proud. Icing on the cake was when the judge announced Chico is Best In Show 2!!! Congrats to boys breeder/owner Gwen!!! You have yet another starboy in petits and how special it is, that it's son of super-Apple! Thank you Anna for the help, company and pics!!! |
7.-8.2.2015 Troyes International Show, France
This year continues on the highest note!!! On his 3rd birthday Hocus Pocus hit the jackpot. BEST IN SHOW @ international all breed show!!!! Breed & group judge mr Christian Masuez, France. Best in show judge mr Frank Kane, UK. Gwen's dogs had an amazing weekend all in all. Dear Cappuccino won Best In Show Veteran & Best In Group 2 after Hocus. And Tinkerbell's sister Daisy Best In Show Junior!!!! So no room for improvement there :) Pics from podium by mr Jean Paul Kerihuel. |
Straight after petits it was grands and I had Meisje entered in open to start to hunt her last CAC. Happy to tell she did it on a first try, won her last CAC in Finland so became a new Finnish Champion and ended up winning the breed :)
And her performance in the group ring made the day, our little show-off-girl <3 |
24.1.2015 Turku Top Dog Show
It was time for the first show of this year for myself and no better place to start than my home show in Turku. Year before Apple hit the jackpot there by winning Best In Show, this year I had his father and son in the ring :) Both breeds were judged by Ann Carlström, Sweden. In petits there was rather nice entry, 12 in total. I had our new boy Chicago entered in open class and his grand-dad Porter in veteran. Both boys gave wonderful performance and judge had lovely comments on them. Both got exc with cq and in the end Chicago placed 2nd with CAC & res.CACIB (confirmed later CACIB) after later BIS3 Ricky. Not bad for a 16-month-old boy :) Porter was bm4 and BOB veteran. Thank you Tilda for helping in showing him! The judge for BIS veteran was Attila Czegledi, Hungary and he had rather huge amount of oldies to judge. Porter showed what a little show boy he is and flew in the big ring. Glad the judge noticed it too and picked him up from the crowd. Last time Porter had been to a ring was last November and result was quite amazing, Best in show veteran. This time he nearly repeated it, Best in show veteran 2!!! How happy am I of his shape and spirit, he sure doesn't show his respectable age one bit! And glad the judges appreciate it too! Big thank you to Jari Kunnari & Mikko Marttinen for capturing again these special moments!!! |
5. & 6.1.2015 My Dog 1 & 2, Gothenburg
What a SUPER start for the year!!!!!!!! Hocus has been at Gwen's for few weeks now and boy is enjoying company of his new and old friends :) His first show with Gwen was the double international show in Gothenburg, Sweden. Both days he was Best Of Breed, so I could watch him in live streaming and bite my nails off :D On the first show on Monday tThe breeds were judged by Karl-Erik Johansson, Sweden. He gave Hocus one of the best critiques ever. The group was judge Jose Homem de Mello, Portugal and it was Apple's day! He won the group and in the end Reserve Best In Show under Frank Sabella, USA!!! Hocus looked super too and performed so well with Katrien, so sincere thank you!!! Then came Tuesday and boys got to show under Åke Cronander, Sweden. The breed results repeated from yesterday, both Best of Breeds. It meant they got to show under yesterdays breed Judge mr Johansson again, this time in the group ring. Monday proved to be a day of super-Apple, Tuesday it was Hocus' turn to shine. It was so nerve wrecking to watch the group judging... first to see both boys short-listed. Then to see them in top2. And finally realizing that Hocus-boy won the group!!! So I was spoiled by being able to watch Hocus-boy in the final ring for the 3rd time! Best In Show was judged by world famous mrs Liz Cartlidge, UK. Hocus showed his socks off with Gwen and I was bursting with proudness. In the end he was placed 4th in an impressive line-up of group winners! Superbly done Gwen & Hocus!!! Pics by Peter MacCormack & Katrien van Gemert, thank you!!! |

14.12.2014 Amsterdam Winner 2014
Last show of the year for us and what better place to have it than at Amsterdam Winner 2014 and visiting Gwen the same trip! We arrived already on Friday to spend some down time without packing and travelling. Saturday came quickly, had a lot of doggies to finnish for the show on Sunday. In the evening we travelled to Amsterdam to watch the Eukanuba World Challenge finals. It was exciting for me as a Finn and a pbgv person to see how the Finnish representative Nightdream Ricky Martin and Kristina got pulled to final. First time for finnish dog ever, so well done you two!!!! Then the show day came it was time to rumble, Amsterdam Winner! The judge for the both breeds and the group was Jose Homem de Mello, Portugal. It was one big celebration from start to finish for our gang! Two breeds, 8 dogs and 7 titles!!! Eight was impossible as there were 2 in same class. Super happy how Hocus performed with me, BOB & Amsterdam Winner ´14. This also meant that he got the last needed CACIB for the C.I.E!!! In petits Apple swept the floor and kept sweeping in the best of group by winning it! Bjorn showed how it's done and won Best in Show Veteran! And finally it was last competition of the day and Apple had one tough competition of top dogs (4 of them representatives in Eukanuba Challenge). But that didn't faze the star, but he showed his butt off. He won reserve Best In Show and we were partying in the audience!!!! Thanks Gwen and Iris for the super fun weekend!!! And it was so nice to meet and greet Anouk, Katrien, Kristy & Saskia :) See you all next year!!! |
On Sunday it was the main show, Finnish Winner with over 7000 entered dogs. Judge for both breeds was Attila Czegledi, Hungary.
Hocus was still on fire after previous day and sailed to BOB & new title Finnish Winner ´14. In petits Apple strudded his stuff and won the heart of the judge. With an amazing critique he won males and later BOB and the title Finnish Winner´14 :) So that ment it was time for me to change to skirt and show my boy in the big ring. Best of group was judged by Riitta Lahtovaara. Group was again huge, well over 20 different breeds, but still both of our boys managed to be shortlisted in top 7 :) In the end Apple was the biggest star and won the group!!! In the best in show competition the judge was Tapio Eerola. It was such a joy to watch him and Gwen in this prestigious show and going all the way to Best In Show 3!!! Well done dears :) Picture credits go to Jaana Honkanen & Mikko Marttinen. |
6. & 7.12.2014 Helsinki & Finnish Winner 2014
One of the main events of the year were the double winner shows and what made it even more special was that I finally got to experience it with Gwen! Her coming to our main shows was in plans for years and years and I guess it paid off to be patient. At least the results indicate it :D After some misfortune we had only Apple and Hocus in the ring during weekend. But luckily they were our main dogs to show anyway. On Saturday the judge was Taina Nygård and it was a Hocus' day. It was both weird and enjoyable for me to watch him from ring side (first time ever!). But he and Gwen worked like well oiled machine! Hocus won the tough male competition and in the end was Best Of Breed! So he is now Helsinki Winner '14. Watching the HUGE best of group ring I was on pins and needles! So much more nerve wrecking to just watch the ring than being in it... Have to say Hocus has never looked better and I was so proud of his performance with Gwen! Glad to tell the judge appreciated him too and placed him BOG4!!! |
9.11.2014 Best-in Puppy Show Helsinki
Last puppy show for Tinky and she ended with style :) Reserve Best Of Group with a super critique by judge Paula Rekiranta. Her record from shows are pretty impressive so far. Out three shows: BIS4, BOG1 & BOG2!!! Now it's time for her to develope into a little lady and get ready for official shows. |
8.11.2014 Jyväskylä International Show
It was time for our adult show sweeties to return to rings and they sure did it with a bang! Both breeds were judged by mrs Zafra Sirik, Israel. Grands had a nice entry of 8, Hocus and Meisje among them. Neither one of the two let me down as first Hocus won males and Meisje followed his lead by winning the females! In the end the judge gave best of breed to Hocus. Big thank you to Jaana Repo for showing Meisje in bob competition! The real star of the day was dearest Porter <3 During the break he had totally charged his batteries as he went like a junior in the ring, not like a 9,5 years old veteran! The judge loved him too and he was bob veteran. Best in show veteran was judged by mr Aramis Joy Lim, Australia. Since it was rather huge show with well over 5000 entries, there were a lot of veterans too competing. Porter continued his super performance and totally rocked the ring. Happy to tell the judge appreciated it too and chose him as Best In Show Veteran!!! Have to say sincere thanks and congrats to Porters breeder Nick Frost & co-owner Gwen Huikeshoven!!! Our boy seems to keep getting better and better! Thank you also again to Mikko Martikainen and Jari Kunnari for the pics and capturing these special moments!!! |
26.10.2014 Lahti All Breed Puppy Show
Tinkerbell had her second puppy show among staggering 900 entered puppies. Breed judge was Eeva Resko of Daragoj beagles and there were 3 grands entered. Tinky again showed what a little performer she is and strutted her way to best of breed. In the main ring there was a huge entry of group 6 breeds, but that didn't stop her! Judge Tanya Ahlman-Stockmari decided she earned first place in the group!!! Well done little girl :) |
14.9.214 Turku All Breed Puppy Show
This was the debut for little Tinker and she came, she saw and she concured!! The day before we had been at the same venue in a match show (unofficial dog show for all dogs) to practice. She charmed the judges all the way up to Best Puppy and Best In Show 3. And she clearly continued that way today! Judge was Rune Fagerström and he also judged group and Best in show. Tinky Winky's critique was pretty super to read: " 5months old. Very balanced puppy. Excellent in size. Good proportions. Correct leg length. Nicely shaped head with correct proportions and strength. Good ears. Beautiful expression. Excellent neck. Good front chest. Good topline. Excellent bone and feet. Good hocks. Balanced moves. Lovely temperament." It was a long wait after breed judging for her, but like any seasonded show dog does (haha), she used it to take loooooong beauty nap in her crate. Finally it was showtime and she showed her little heart out. First she won her group as youngest in the ring. Then she competed in the top10 of the show and placed 4th, youngest in the top4!!! In the few weeks Tinker has been here, she has proven to be one crazy, outgoing girl. Time will tell what she will achieve in show rings, but for sure it will be fun ride for both of us :) |

22.-24.8.2014 Groups 6 & 7 Show +
2 x International show in Tallinn
Last weekend of this show month and last ones outdoors for this year, thank god :) It would also be Porters last shows in Estonia, so he decided to end it with a big bang!
Packed rather lightly this time, only Meisje was entered with Porter. On Friday morning we headed to Helsinki and there we joined Pirjo Harmoinen (Good Mind's kennel) and basset hounds Väinö & Paavali and continued to Tallinn.

We had the first show already on Friday afternoon. It started to poaring rain around noon and it stayed that way for few hours. Luckily show started with gr7 dogs and to our super luck rain stopped and sun came out by the time gr6 was up!
Judge was Vilmos Kardos from Hungary. It was Meisje first. She competed in open class and was placed 2nd with exc and cq. In the end she came bb2. Then it was Porters turn. The judge pretty much fell in love with him. He couldn't believe he is over 9 already. After looking at the movements, the judge started praising and applauding him! It was nice to start waiting for the finals after that. With vet-CC Porter received he became Estonian Veteran Champion! First Porter competed in BIS-Veteran. There was veterans from both groups and good competition! But the boy showed his little heart out and judge had no choice but to put him up first! Then it was time for Best of Group 6 competition. I guess Porter didn't put one step wrong as again he was shown the first place! And there was Pirjo's Paavali right behind him BOG2 :) So there were two happy ladies on top! Before BIS I got to show a new breed for me, Kinkku the burgos pointing dog. It was fun and went well I guess as she was BOG3. Congrats Teija! So it was time for Best In Show and Porter competed against the red irish setter. He loved the cheers he got from the crowd and the judge agreed with them, Porter was Best In Show too!!! Some way to start the weekend!! |
After a good night sleep it was first of the two international shows. Judge for both breeds was Cindy Kerssemeijer, Netherlands. I knew the judge was very strict and it showed that day also. Never the less both Meisje and Porter got really nice critiques and were both BOB's.
The weather conditions were somewhat challenging and sadly the time Best In Show veteran's were prejudged it was pouring rain. Since group was to be judged after, I decided not to show Porter in BIS-vet final. And it paid off! When gr6 was on it was again sun and I got to show a dry gentleman :) The boy rocked in the ring and judge rewarded him with placement of Best of Group 2!!! |
Then it was time for the last show of the weekend and for Porter last one in Estonia. Judge of the day was Annamaria Tarjan, Hungary.
I had entered Porter in champion class in the hopes of getting CC and so champion title to him. And he did it :) So he got another title to him, Estonian Champion. Both Meisje and Porter were also BOB's. The group competition was a super ending to the weekend for me and my buddy Pirjo. Both our boys got group placements, Porter was BOG3 and Paavali won BOG :) Huuuuge congrats to Pirjo!!! All in all it was a fun trip with great success in the ring and left with many lovely memories. Big thank you to Pirjo who just the best person to travel with <3 Many thanks also all the friends for the cheers and laughs during this rather wet weekend! It was fun to show few other breeds as well, so thank you Pirjo, Kotkis and Teija for the opportunity :) Now it's time for the adult doggies to rest from showing and enjoy coming fall. For me it's exciting fall with our newcomer starting her show career. Photo credits and thanks go to Pille Saar, Hannele Tammivuori, Varje Himma & Kersti Zopp. |
17.8.2014 Raisio national show
I entered Hocus, Meisje and Porter to our local summer show thinking this will propably be one of Porter's last shows. The outcome was somewhat super! There were 5 grands entered under Pirjo Aaltonen and 4 petits under Massimiliano Mannucci. Porter was up first and took it all, BOB & BOB-veteran. Then to another ring and the grand duo rocked, Hocus BOB & Meisje BOS CC. Big thank you for Tilda for helping me with Meisje! There were few hours to spend before final rings, but it went rather fast, thanks to my traveling companion Eija and her stories ;) Finally it was showtime! I had decided to show Hocus myself and to give Porter to Iida's capable hands. Thank you Iida!!! It was a joy to watch you two in the ring :) Group was judged by mr Mannucci and he was clearly impressed by our veteran. So much he decided Porter was Best of Group!!! I was soooooo happy and proud of this well over 9 years old boy who still is showing like a junior <3 So I will keep an open mind about Porter's show future. He will have couple of shows in Tallinn and after that we will see what we come up with :) |
9.8.2014 World Dog Show Helsinki 2014
One of the most exciting weekends finally came and we had the absolute pleasure to host some dear VIP-guests from Netherlands, Gwen, her sister Anouk and Iris. So our house and yard was filled with gorgeous grands and petits and they got to experience the finnish HOT summer :) The due day was on Saturday and we were one of the 1st to arrive to queue to get the best spot. Grands started the ring already at 9am, judge by mr Kerihuel (Fra) and 30 entered. Hocus competed in big group of champion males and I am really happy to tell he placed 2nd. Meisje did even better, she won reserve-CC :) Gwen's champion bitch Ibiza took CC & CACIB, so she won World Winner title as well as Finnish Champion title. Also sweet Graffiti won CC and champion title and Gwen's breeders group won BOB! So not a bad start for the day :) Then it was pbgv's turn. Judge was mr Bo Skalin (Swe) and he had 32 entered petits to judge. The van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes team did amazing! World Winner, World Veteran Winner, new Finnish Champion, Best of Breed, Best of Breed Veteran and Best of Breed Breeder!!! Marsie-girl was 2nd in champion class. So toast was definitely in order! And also got to enjoy Basset picniq organized by Jaana Repo/Finnish Basset Club. Big thank you for that Jaana! In the finals Gwen had first the super-Bjorn competing for Best In Show Veteran and that boy sure delivered! He won reserve out of close to hundred veterans, way to gooooo!!! Then it was time to watch Apple strutting his stuff in the group with Gwen. He showed just superbly and was a clear crowd favorite. In the end Paavo Mattila placed him third Best of Group. Well done Appleflap <3 As usual time flies when you have the best of time... Too soon came Sunday and time to say farewell to Anouk who flew home. Thank you Jaana for giving her a lift to the airport! We got the chance to watch final competitions in the audience and cheer for our friends in the BIS. So big congrats Ping-Ping Panda & Tortrakul Chaiyah for Ricky's BIS and Lotte Kristensen & Michael Møllegaard Kristensen for Cole's BIS4!!!!! And then came Monday, so time for Gwen and Iris to start their journey back to Netherlands. But as they say, you need to say goodbye in order to meet again... Biggest congrats go to Gwen for the huge and so deserved success of her lovely doggies!!! Big congrats also to Anouk on Sugar's CC win! And last but soooo not least huge thank you to the best help in the world, Iris!!! I may steal you some day... Until next time ladies!!!! Pics by Ping-Ping Panda, Mikko Martikainen, Jari Kunnari & Jaana Honkanen, thank you!!! |

1.-3.8.2014 Sawo Show, 3 x CACIB in Kuopio
Kuopio triple was the start of the month full of shows. Trip was done with two other ladies, Anna & Iida plus six dogs. I had entered Hocus, Meisje and Porter.
On Friday the judge was Harri Lehkonen. Despite the hot weather doggies performed well and the boys took bm2 placements, Porter also BOB-veteran. The star of the day was ms Meisje by winning BOB over current top grand, Tico.
And in the group (1st time in a big show) she made me proud being little show diva and showing herself so proudly!

On Saturday we had change of judge and so Sakari Poti took both breeds. Hocus was again bm2, Porter BOB-vet and Meisje BOS after Tico.
On the last day there was another change of judge and I decided to show just Meisje. She repeated her Saturday result and was chosen BOS, judge Dick Rutten. Thank you ladies, Anna and Iida, for the fun trip and help! Pics by Ping-Ping Panda and Jari Kunnari, thank you both!!! |
19.7.2014 Mäntsälä national show
The only show of the month for us was judged by Tapio Eerola. There were 6 entered in both breeds and I can be very happy about the results and how the trio looked. Miss Meisje competed in open class and charmed the judge as usual :) She won females with her 10th CC and BOS after BIS4 Tico! Hocus was BM2 and Porter BOB & BOB-veteran. Big thank you and congrats to Tico's dad Jari and mom Eija for these nice pics and the boy's big success!!! Now the focus is at August and some super exciting shows :) |

15.6.2014 Rose of Kotka Int. Show
Rather traditional show for us but this year in different location, that was really picture perfect and no rain storm this time.
Again entered my trio, Hocus, Meisje & Porter and results were just great!
Mr Tino Pehar judged both breeds and group 6.
There were 9 grands entered and ours got the top placements, Hocus BOB CACIB & Meisje BOS CACIB CAC!!!
In petits 4 males were shown and our 9-year-old veteran Porter was again BM2 and BOB-veteran after Ricky :)
In finals there was rather big group of hounds.
Since my travelling companion and help, Tilda Rinne, had shown Hocus to BOG4 few weeks back, I wanted to give her a go with him again.
And the duo rocked the ring! Hocus was placed 3rd in group, so WTG Tilda!!!
In Best in Show Veteran Porter was flying in the ring and shortlisted to best 8 out of huge group <3
Day before Marsie had fun with Tilda at Pöytyä show in Junior Handler competition. It was their 1st official competition and result was best possible, Best In Show Junior Handler! Well done!

31.5.-1.6.2014 Estonian Winner 2014 & Group 6 Speciality
Where to start... it was a dream-come-true-weekend!!!!
Day after our speciality we again packed our bags and head to Estonia. There were their main show of the year, Winner 2014 and Group 6 Speciality to attend to.
I had entered Hocus, Meisje, Porter and Marsie to Winner Show which was on on Saturday.
Judge for both breeds was Mr Laurent Pichard of world famous Very Vigie American Cockers.
Results were super!!
Hocus won the breed with title Estonian Winner 2014
Meisje was Best of Breed Junior and bb2 with title Estonian Junior Winner 2014
And the duo came Best Brace of Breed too!
Porter won the breed and BOB Veteran with two new titles Estonian Winner 2014 & Estonian Veteran Winner 2014
Marsie was BOS and Estonian Winner 2014
So they all got qualifications to participate in Crufts 2015!
In the finals I decided to concentrate on BIS-veteran and group competitions and not show Meisje in BIS-junior nore the duo in BIS-brace.
And it paid off!
Porter was placed Reserve Best Veteran In Show by judge Orietta Zilli, It.
Vid of the judging here.

In the record-size group 6 I showed Porter and talented Jaana Roos, who has helped me before, showed Hocus.
The boys made all the cuts and in the end Porter was Best of Group Winner and Hocus was 4th Best of Group!!! Just as in Rauma Show couple of weeks back. AMAZING!! Here is a link to vid of group judging. So nice to be able to re-live the special moment. * * * * * * On Sunday it was time for the Group 6 Speciality with judge Monika Blaha, Austria. After Saturdays huge success, I was ready for what ever results, but sure as hell not for the results we got!!! Hocus started and didn't let me down, best male. Meisje was little miss Sunshine! She won the bitches from junior class and got her first champion title, Estonian Junior Champion!!! She also won Best of Breed Junior. So I had both my grands in BOB competition and got a talented young handler Niklas Kalske to show Meisje. Those two rocked the ring all the way to Best of Breed!!! First time for the girl to win over her half-brother <3 My duo got to compete again for BOB-brace and won :) Porter was the only petit I had entered and so the BOB and BOB-veteran. Then it was time for the finals of the show and I was busy in showing mine in four of them. Glad we didn't miss any... Porter Best In Show Veteran Hocus & Meisje Best In Show Brace Meisje Best In Show Junior and finally Porter Reserve Best In Show!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I was totally speechless. Then it was few more hours of rest for Porter before Best In Show competition at the Winner Show. Judge was Mr Frank Kane, UK. In the ring I felt calm. Maybe it was due to the fact I saw Porter was performing super well even he had done it already so many times during the weekend. And I also felt we had nothing to loose. When the judge announced BIS4 and 3, butterflies came. He had moved Porter and American Akita up and down just before making the decision and neither one of them were placed yet. So the announcer asked top two in the ring, Porter and the American Akita!! Once around the ring and we were handed the winners red rosette and then came the water works :D It was the first time I got to show a dog to Best In Show win, not for the winner himself who maintained cool :P Link to BIS competition :) Congrats and million thank you's to Porter's Dutch mom and my dear friend Gwen Huikeshoven!!!!! Words totally fail me... Cheers also to his breeder Nick Frost!!! Sincere thanks and congrats on their own success to my travelling buddies, Pirjo Harmoinen, Veijo Ahonen, Tia Tuhkala & Hanna Hyvärinen!!! And have to thank Jaana Roos and Niklas Kalske for being able to borrow their handling skills :) Photo credits and thanks for these everlasting memories go to Marianne Kostiainen, Tommi Yrjänä and Sari Karlsson. |

29.5.2014 Finnish Basset Club Speciality
After one year off it was time for one rainy and cold speciality day in Tampere.
I had entered five doggies to the show, the 4 I've been showing recently and after year and a half break Mokka got to go too!
Breed judge was Marko Lepasaar, Ee.
First it was grands. Hocus and Mokka competed in champ class, Meisje in junior.
All got excellents without cq's, Hocus 4th, Mokka 3rd and Meisje 2nd in class.
Then it was petit's turn.
Porter competed in veterans with 2 other males and won the class. In best male he showed his heart out as usual and was placed 2nd after champ Ricky.
Marsie did super in big champ class. She came 2nd and in the end bb2 :)

In the final ring I had Porter competing for Best Veteran In Show, but before that it was time for our homies Rommi and Cava to shine!
I had entered them to domestic dog competition with Anna and Vesa and they rocked! Rommi won and Cava came 2nd :D Before official finals there was brace-competition for me with Hocus and Meisje. Even it was their first brace-competition, they were pro's and were placed 2nd!! Finally it was time for best veteran and luckily it had stopped raining. Porter flew in the ring and judge Siret Lepasaar decided he was the best veteran in the show!!! Goooo Porter <3 Photo credit to Tiina Nuutero. |

17.5.2014 Rauma Show 2014
Spent one heck of a great day with good amount of friends and their dogs!
Sun, best company, excellent food & beverages and super results for doggies!!!
Judge was Antonio Di Lorenzo, Norway.
Meisje BOS CAC, Hocus BOB BOG4 and our golden oldie Porter BOB BOB-vet BOG1!!! He was also in top6 in bis-veteran :)
What made it even more special, they weren't the only winners among our gang! We had 4 x Best of Breeds, 1 x Best of Opposite, 1 x Group4 and 2 x Group winners!
Unfortunately I had to work on Sunday so couldn't participate in Best In Show. But what the friends are for... Mr. Porter got a ride from Anna and was superbly handled in the ring by Tilda. So sincere thanks are in order :)
Thank you also to Iida for the help in breed ring and another Anna for excellent company!!!

It was a day of reserves for us.
Hocus bm2, Meisje bb2 and Porter bm2 bob-veteran & again shortlisted in bis-veteran.
Love how the green grass complements the dogs!

26.4.2014 Lahti International Show
After two months of break it was great to return to show ring. Have to say the break did wonders to myself and especially the doggies. And happy to see it showed in the ring and results too.
Hocus competed in the champion class the first time and ended winning it and males too.
Meisje was entered in intermediate for the first time. She showed her little heart out and won the bitches with cc and her first cacib!
So again I had both of my grands in BOB competition. The judge, Paavo Mattila, seemed to have a hard time to choose between them, but in the end it was again champ Hocus who got the ticket to final ring.
Thank you Catharina Wasenius for your help showing Meisje.
In petits I had entered Porter in veteran class. He was so happy to be in the ring after 4,5 months break, so he flew himself to bm2 and bob-veteran.In the main ring Porter was short-listed in best in show veteran, judged by world famous Hans Lehtinen.

22.2.2014 Jyväskylä International Show
Three dogs in two breeds, one BOB & two BOS's!!!
The second show in Finland couldn't have gone much better for my trio.
I entered two grands Hocus & Meisje and a petit Marsie under mr Gavin Robertson of kennel Soletrader.
As Hocus turned 2 years old just a week before, this was his first try to get his last cac for champion title. There were in total of 13 grands entered, 11 shown. This boy ended as only male granted with exc and cq, so he was then the cacib and cac winner and new champion!!!
Junior Meisje competed among 5 older females and to my positive surprise she beat them all, winning best female with cac!!!
So in the BOB competition I had both of my sweeties. Hocus took rightfully his win and was chosen as Best of Breed. Big thank you to Jaana Repo for the help!
In petits I had Marsie and with a nice critique she was chosen bos after later bis3 Ricky. Congrats Kristina for another great day!
Now it's time to have a winter break and enjoy other things in doggy life than shows. And of course start preparing the doggies for spring shows.
Grand photos by Anneli Hämäläinen, petit photo by Miia Mäkijouppila. Thank you ladies!

8.2.2014 Tallinn Winter Cup 2014
After the amazing Turku show it was time for the first trip abroad for the year and it was just with the young grands, Hocus Pocus and Meisje.
Hocus turned 2 on the show day and he celebrated it with a bang!
Judge Damir Skok gave him superb critique and was so impressed with his quality that after choosing him BOB, he put him up for Best of Group!!!
Meisje did her thing in the ring too and won her first jun-cac. She was also BOB-junior and BOS.
Big thanks to Jaana Roos for the help in the ring!

19.1.2014 Winter Dog Show, Turku
It's a tradition of mine to start the new show year from my home show in Turku and there was no exception this year. What made it special was that we would get to enjoy the company of my dear dutch friend and co-owner/breeder of many of the dogs here, Gwen Huikeshoven, kennel van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes.
During the weekend we got to enjoy the spa and dinner at my workplace, Break Sokos Hotel Caribia. And visited a shopping center too. On Sunday it was time to spend the day in the dog show. And some day it was!
We had entered four dogs, one petit and 3 grands. Also Porter was competing with Tilda Rinne in junior handler competition.
Judge for the both breeds was John Jr Walsh from Ireland. First up it was 6 entered petits among them Apple. He didn't miss a step and was chosen BOB.

Straight after petits it was turn for 12 entered grands.
Hocus was the first up in open class. That boy is turning into a grown man gradually also in his attitude and he showed so so well. Here is a vid of him.

After Hocus it was time for champion males, among them Gwen's World Winner Fido Dido van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes.
First he won the class and then it was best male competition. Hocus-boy tried to give him some competition, but the champ did his thing :) So Fido won males with cac & cacib. Now he can add to his long list of titles also Finnish Champion! Hocus got the res-cac & res-cacib. It was time for the grand ladies and Meisje was straight away on display in junior class. She is such a showgirl in her attitude and totally strudded her stuff with Gwen. And it was so nice for me to look her performance outside the ring!
The judge loved her too giving her cac and bb2 after champion. Well done girl! |
So there was only left Best of Breed competition.
Fido looked amazing and was chosen as best of breed :) So we had the boys in the final ring. During the day Tilda won the older group of junior handlers with Porter so they started the final competitions n BIS Junior handler. That duo rocked the ring and won! WTG!!! |
Then it was time for Apple and Fido to do their best in the final ring.
Both did super and were shortlisted in the group.
But it was Apple's day as he won the group, judge Annette Bystrup.
And in the best in show he just went for it.
Judge was mr Harri Lehkonen, Finland and he thought Apple was the best of them all, winning over from 4500 entered dogs!!!

Show results 2013

13.-15.12.2013 Helsinki & Nordic & Finnish Winner 2013
Last show weekend of the year and a true marathon of main shows in Finland!
Had the pleasure the spend it with our swedish friends from kennel Vilauddens, Peter and Marie. And big thanks goes to Iida, who helped me through the weekend with my pack!
Results varied quit a bit from day to day, so it made the weekend even more exciting.
Our little star was junior-Meisje! She won the class every day and so gained her first titles, HeJW-13, NordicJW-13 & FiJW-13. On Friday and Sunday she also was placed in best bitch competition so she gained 2 more cac's too :)
Hocus bettered his result towards Sunday, first two days he got res-cac's and on the final day he hit the jackpot winning BOB under basset specialist Jose Homem de Mello, Portugal.
In petits Marsie won the huge champ class on Friday and Sunday and placed bb2 after the new Fi Ch Vilauddens Vega. Congrats Peter & Marie!!!
Apple placed 2nd in champ class on Fri and Sun after huge winner of the weekend, 3 x BIS placed Nightdream Ricky Martini, big shout out to Kristina Bergström!
Porter did really well on Sun winning BOB-veteran with the title and bm3 after Apple and Ricky, way to go old chap :)
All in all it was another unforgetable winners weekend, that took few days to recover from...
Now it's time to relax and enjoy the holiday season. And of course plan the new year ahead.

9.12.2013 Swedish Winner 2013
It was time for our last trip abroad and off we went to the main show of the year in Sweden.
I entered the boys, Hocus, Apple and Porter and the success was beyond my wildest dreams!
Both breeds were judged by Karl-Erik Johansson from Sweden.
Young Hocus competed in open class and was placed bm2 after champion and later bob.
Porter competed for the 2nd time in veteran class and again such a joy to show. He was bob veteran, so he had the chance to shine in the final ring as well.

But as if that wasn't enough Apple was the biggest star of the day!
First by winning the breed from open class (18 petits entered) he gained new title Swedish Winner 2013. Then he flew in the huge group of hounds and dachshunds (they combine 4 & 6 groups in Sweden) and won Best Of Group! By then I was swallowing tears... It was time to wait for the BIS to start, judge was John Reeve-Newson, Canada. Line-up was so impressive as Apple was competing among for example this years Top dog of Finland and Denmark. So no way this young boy could be among 4 best of the best... |
Biggest congrats to Apple's breeder & owner Gwen Huikeshoven and Porter's breeder Nick Frost + co-owner Lind Stark!!!
Sincere thanks for all nice comments I received of the boys and to my travelling companion Pirjo Harmoinen & her gentleman, brand new C.I.E Minskuhoff's Griffon Qadir "Kalle"!!!
These beautiful pics are all by Jari Kunnari.

2. & 3.11.2013 Herning international show &
Danish Winner show
It was time for Marsie to come home from the Netherlands, so I traveled to Denmark for Herning shows and spend the weekend with my dear friend Gwen.
Results of the shows were super for Marsie! There were 19 petits entered both days.
On Saturday mr Peter Beyersdorf placed her bb2 with cac and res-cacib, so she came straight Danish champion!
Then on Sunday at the Winner show mr Tino Pehar placed her bb1 with cacib and bos after the later group winner, Gwen's Apple. So that gave her her 2nd title of the weekend, Danish winner 2013.
Marsie is in super condition, thanks to Gwen. So I can't wait to show her in finnish shows again!

28. & 29.9.2013 Maastricht Double International Show
Marsie is on a roll and having best of time at Gwen's!!!
Dutch shows #2 & #3 treated the girl well, both days BOS with CAC and CACIB :) So one more CAC needed for the champion title.
Something very exciting and special was resolved this weekend too.
It is now certain that Marsie's grand-dad Bjorn will be representing Netherlands at Eukanuba World Challenge in Orlando on December!!!
This is the 2nd time Gwen gets to show a petit there as in 2009 Marsie's dad Cappuccino (and Bjorn's son) was the dutch representative. Pretty amazing family she has :)
